This ambitious rebuild took a 2019 BMW 330i M Sport Shadow Edition and a 2016 BMW M3 Competition to create the ultimate F81 M3 Touring. The journey involved meticulous attention to detail, innovative engineering, and countless hours of hard work. Here’s the story of how it all came together.

Our project breaks boundaries and pushes the limits of what is possible with the BMW F81 M3 Touring.
The Beginning: Choosing the Perfect Base
Every project begins with a solid foundation. For this build, the base vehicle was a 2019 BMW 330i M Sport Shadow Edition, chosen for its BMW Individual Champagne Quartz Metallic colour and panoramic sunroof. These features were not just aesthetic but essential for creating a car that combined style with practicality.

Stripping Down the Salvage
The next step was assessing the damage on the salvage 2016 BMW M3 Competition. The front end was stripped to reveal the extent of the repairs required. This marked the beginning of integrating the M3’s performance with the 330i Touring’s practicality.
Interior Transformation: Red Leather Highlights
A defining feature of this build was its interior. The stunning red leather competition seats from the M3 were carefully removed and prepared for installation in the F81 Touring. This step added a luxurious yet sporty feel to the project.
Preparing the Chassis
The 2016 BMW M3 Competition chassis was stripped down to its bare shell, paving the way for a complete rebuild. This meticulous work allowed for a seamless fusion of the two vehicles.
Custom Wiring for OEM Precision
One of the most challenging aspects of the build was creating a custom wiring loom. The goal was to retrofit features such as 360 cameras, self-parking sensors, blind spot detection, and lane departure sensors. The wiring was carefully installed to match OEM specifications, ensuring the final product looked as if it came straight from the factory.
Crafting the GTS Rear Lights
The GTS rear lights were custom-built to fit the F31 Touring housing, a process that took three days. The challenge lay in reshaping the housing to accommodate the GTS inners, a task that required persistence and precision.
Perfecting the Bodywork
Creating the perfect body lines involved cutting and joining two bumpers, a task that required multiple adjustments. Each step was measured meticulously to ensure a flawless fit.
